·         In-depth technical knowledge of optical layer 1 transport systems, DWDM, SONET/SDH, cross-connect switching and signal grooming, as well as knowledge of ring and mesh network topologies.

·         Knowledge of service provider IP architectures.

·         Knowledge of network capture and analysis tools, with the ability to analyze protocol and application behaviors.
